Penstock usually is square or rectangle , sometimes round carbon steel, stainless steel fabricated Structure with light weight and tight seal.

A pensotck or a sluice gate valve is described as a valve that uses a gate or wedge shape disk that slides perpendicular to the flow of the fluid into or out of the pipeline. When the gate valve is fully opened, the disk of the gate valve is completely separated from the flow. The valve is controlled by a T-key, cranked handle or electro motor.

A variety of sizes and special types are available by request.

Sluice gate valves are designed to control flow or level of a liquid consisting a sliding gate:controlled by a mechanically operated spindle, moving

vertically over the aperture in a frame which is secured on to structure.

It is commonly used to control water levels and flow

rates in rivers and canals and also used in wastewater

treatment plants and to recover minerals in mining

operations and in watermills.

Fabrication:

Our custom built gates are fabricated in either type 304 or 316 stainless steel, in sizes from 100mm square to 2750mm x 5000mm for zero leakage, tight shutoff performance for seated or unseated heads to 6m (larger sizes available by special request). Seat materials are neoprene or EPDM.

Mounting:

Gate designs include downward opening or closing styles for direct wall, thimble or channel mounting (using a BNW boxout for channel gates), with flush bottom or standard seating and rising or non-rising stems. Operation can be manual (nut, handwheel, or crank with or without gear), or powered by electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic actuators. BNW sluice gates can be directly mounted to concrete, however for new installations of gates larger than 599mm, we recommend the inclusion of a BNW Wall Thimble to achieve the ideal surface for a zero leakage solution.
