Twin Screw Pump

Twin-Screw Pump is a self-priming, double ended positive displacement pumps with external timing gears and bearings. Manufactured in over 80 sizes, their design provides complete axial balancing of the rotating elements and eliminates all metal-to-metal contact within the pump.
They can handle virtually any non-homogeneous fluid, regardless of viscosity, lubricity or abrasiveness e. g. seawater, bitumen, molasses, lime, acid, caustic solution or hydrocarbon.
While pumping there is no metal-to-metal contact within the pump housing. This allows good pumping performance even with non-lubricating and corrosive and contaminated fluids.
As the pump rotates, the intermeshing of the two screws along with the pump housing form chambers. These chambers fill with the pumped fluid and move it from the suction side of the pump to the higher pressure discharge side of the pump.
The pump is designed to allow for reverse flow by simply changing the shaft direction. The suction becomes the dis-charge and vice versa, all without any modifications to the pump.

In some cases, one or both of the screws can be tapered so that they're narrower at one end than the other. This design helps increase volumetric efficiency.

Notes of selecting pump:
1 ,First,should make sure the temperature of operating condition,if thetemperature is less than 120°C,it is best to select the ZK design.
2 ,If the pumped medium with good 1 ubrication,such as lub.oil and foodoil,select the design Zi pump that is reliable and economical.
3, Depend on the viscosity of medium umder working temperature tochoose the rotating speed n:in case v ≤1000mm²/s,it is right to choose n=1450r/min.when v=1000-1500mm²/s,please take care to consider the NPSH value.If v<1500mm²/s,please contact with the manufacturer and thespecialist to give you a satisfactory service.
4,Preliminary choose the pump size corresponding with the capacity and pressure which you desired from the performance table of series W.V twin screw pump.
5,Calculate the fluid flowing velocity VF in axial acording to the pitch h from pump performance talbe (for example the size2.1-24,the number 24 means pitch h in mm),VF=n x h/60(m/s).then calculate the NPSHr value as following: NPSHr=(1.5+0.253VF 1.84345+0.0572VF 1.55)*v 0.4146 where: v:vis-cosity (°E) of medium umder working temptrature.take v as value 5° E when v≤40mm²/s,when V>40mm²/s,1mm²/s=1/7.6°E.
6,If NPSHr of pump is less than NPSH,of suction pipe,the selected pump is correct.If NPSHr is bigger than NPSH, should choose the pump size bigger with pitch less.Then verificate the NPSHr value again.
7,After selecting the pump size,find out the different pressure △P, capac-ity Q and power N Corresponding to the viscosity v of the pump from the table,then choose the maching motor with sufficient power Nm.Nm≥K·N.The value K is showed in the table:

8 ,The working drawing of foundation will be designed after selecting the pump by customer,please ask for the outline dimension of the unit of pump and motor to the Screw Pump Resesrch institute of "Chongqing Hongar Industries Co., Ltd."
