Socket Welded Globe Valve

Globe valves are closing-down valves in which the closure member is moved squarely on and off the seat. By this mode of disc travel, the seat opening varies in direct proportion to the travel of the disc. This proportional relationship between valve opening and disc travel is ideally suited for duties involving the regulation of flow rate. Globe valves can also be used for on-off duty, the seating load can be positively controlled with high sealing capacity.
The change in direction of fluid flow through these valves produces increased resistance and pressure drop. The standard Straight “T”-Pattern valve body is the most common, but because of its tortuous flow passage, it offers the highest resistance to the flow of the patterns available. The oblique pattern globe-valve body is designed to reduce the flow resistance of the valve to a minimum. This valve combines low flow resistance for on-off duty with the robustness of globe-valve seatings. Forge steel socket weld globe valve is used in many industrial applications including the oil and gas industry, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, automotive, and marine. socket weld globe valve is also recommended for services requiring frequent operation and positive shut-off.
The carbon steel class 800 socket weld globe valve is designed to API 602 and tested to API 598, it is suitable for high pressure and temperature duties. This valve can be supplied with BSPT, NPT threaded or socket weld ends.

Socket Welded Globe Valve

This socket welded globe valve is made in forged steel A105 material. For Welded end forged steel A105 gate valve, it only available in bolted bonnet type only. For globe valve with screw-in bonnet design, a bonnet is screw in into the valve body to hold internal parts that inside valve body, and offering a pressure tight seal between bonnet and valve body. While for globe valve with bolted bonnet design, the bonnet is come with thicker specifications and tighten to valve body with bolts and nuts. This design is normally used for high pressure application. The handle design of socket weld globe valve is in wheel shape handle design.

For the stem part, which is one of the essential part for globe valve, it is available in rising stem design and non-rising stem design. For socket weld globe valve with rising stem design, the stem will rise and exposed when we rotate the wheel handle to open position and lower when we rotate the wheel handle to close position. This design can simply tell us if the valve is in open position or close position by looking at the amount of stem exposed. However for globe valve that come with non-rising stem design, the valve is in open position when we rotate the handle to the open position as far as possible and in close position when we rotate the handle to the close position as far as possible. Although it is unable to check the valve in open or close position like rising stem design, non-rising stem design globe valve is more suitable to install on hydraulic piping system that have limited space for the stem to raise in full, for example, underground hydraulic systems.

Globe Valves are made in accordance with API 602 and ASME B16.34 standard for low pressure application and also for throttling applications. The globe valve consists of a movable disc that connected to a stem, allow user to regulate the flow in pipeline by rotate the wheel shape handle.
